About

This is the weblog of Joseph Cohen.

I'm the founder of a company called Coursekit. We're reshaping education for the internet age. If you are brilliant and want to be part of something extraordinary, join us.

I was also student at Wharton. But that's on hold for now.

Here, I focus on my interests: learning, creativity, invention, and design. Connect with me on Twitter and Linkedin. And subscribe to my newsletter here.

Inspiration

On Apple's core value, in 1997: "We believe that people with passion can change the world for the better." - Steve Jobs

"The details are not details. They make the product. The connections, the connections, the connections. It will in the end be these details that give the product its life." - Charles Eames

Introducing Coursekit

We have ambitious goals.

We’ve just wrapped up our pilot with courses at 30 schools (check out our instructor “Case Studies”).  82 student ambassadors at 48 campuses around the country are getting the word out.

Now, for the upcoming semester, we’re going worldwide. As of today, any instructor can create a Coursekit in just a few minutes and make their course come alive.

We’re trying to bring great product design to a market notorious for poor design.

Coursekit is the most elegant, easy-to-use course management system available. Instructors will finally get calendaring, grading, file management, and communication tools with the world-class design.

By bringing familiar social networking tools to education, we believe that classroom dynamics will finally come to life online. Coursekit courses will be more than just groups of students - they will be learning communities.

To get there, we need to be disruptive. That’s why Coursekit is available to any instructor, for free. No big university sales. Just clean, simple products that people want to use.

So here we go. Hope you love it as much as we do.

- Joe
